She couldn’t say it, For she had been deceived earlier, And he was just too careless, To see in her eyes that she felt the same.

The Do's and Don'ts on the internet

Image
Internet is not something you are unaware of, given that you are reading this post in the first place. With the internet community growing at a faster rate than ever before, it becomes important for every internet user to learn how to save his/her ass from getting whipped in public on internet. I am quite sure most of you would have fantasized about becoming popular on internet, being the cool guy and everything. The trick is simple. You ought to follow some simple rules to be the internet dude. Worship Eminem: An internet dude likes Eminem and has learned every popular rap song of Eminem by rote. Ask him about the greatest rap artist of all time and he would say Eminem. Wake him up while he is sleeping and ask him to sing rap god. He will do that and follow it with a middle finger salute to you.  Hate Justin Bieber and One direction:  Never ever tell anyone that you have liked Justin Bieber or One direction at any point of your life. An internet stud beli

Feminism on Internet

Image
Internet is an abode to a large variety of people, people of every kind, from every nook and corner of the world. The latest fad among the Internet users is Feminism, something which is rarely used in the sense it is meant to be. Go out on Facebook or Quora or any other social network for that matter, worshipped are people who call themselves feminists, feminists who shout their heart out to give this world to women.  Feminism is the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the "EQUALITY" of the sexes. See that word in CAPS, yes that word which is spelled as e-q-u-a-l-i-t-y; well, this is what feminism is supposed to be. Indian society has been patriarchal since forever and it is due to this primarily, that feminism finds its relevance. Yes, women are not treated on equal footing with men. Yes, women still lack the same treatment as men and this is what feminists should strive for, same treatment as men! Expecting respect for just being a woman and advocat

Champions League T20 fans found

In what can be termed as the biggest leak of this millennium, Wikileaks has reported of 2 people following Champions League T20 this year. This has taken the entire nation by storm. As quoted in the leaked report, " The Champions League is being followed by exactly two people, who happen to be friends. These two people have been traced by their IP addresses and are from India." The report goes on to name the two individuals, Aakash and Bhagyesh, who meanwhile are having a tough time explaining this embarrassing action of theirs to their friends and family.  While Aakash's mom is in utter disbelief and refuses to believe her son could go to such an extent in his blind love for cricket, Bhagyesh has been dumped by his girlfriend who couldn't cope up with this crazy side of his. In a telephonic conversation, their friend Nikhil told our team that he had no idea this atrocious act was going on right next to his room. He hoped this wasn't an infectious disease

Home away from home

Most of us have had to stay in a hostel at some point of our life and there is a lot missed by those who have never had the experience of living in a hostel. Hostel life teaches you so many things, some which remain with you forever and leave a impression upon you, and others which blow away with the passing wind of time. The moments spent there can never be lived anywhere else. When you come out of your room to enjoy the glory of mother nature, you end up finding this instead. Your birthday serves as an occasion for your friends to show their altruistic love for you. You understand why your parents asked you  to close the door of your room while sleeping. You learn to live in peace and harmony with Almighty's other creations. You learn to sleep anywhere, with anyone. You begin to appreciate the art of proper garbage disposal. You learn to savour the private moments even with your room mate around. Your birthday snap looks like a

Life as we know it

When I was a small kid, one thing that perplexed me was this thing called Life. At times I used to wonder what would my life be like as seen by my brother or friends or parents. I tried to be in their shoes sometimes and see everything around me. Obviously, I couldn't keep this exercise unbiased but I did learn that life is a marvelous thing. You never realize the impact you make in other lives with each little action of yours. As I grew up, I stopped doing it. It happened unconsciously, something I didn't realize except for today when I delved way too deep into my thoughts. Life happens to you and you never realize it. You never know what it is like to be living with yourself, how do your friends tolerate you and so many more things. At this point in time, when I look back at all those things which happened to me, they seem so justified.  The guy who rejected me in the interview, the friend who ditched me, they all seem to have a reason when I look at things from thei

The new dawn

“India is my country. All Indians are my brother and sisters…..” , Ritesh still remembered the pledge he used to take in his morning assembly at school. So many thoughts flew through his mind as he drove his car past the busy highway. It was Independence Day. 68 years back on this day, India won its independence, but it didn’t matter now. He had this important meeting with a client he could barely afford to miss. “Oh, come on!”, he screamed as he pressed brakes for the third time in last five minutes. He hadn’t anticipated such heavy traffic on the morning of a National Holiday! Somehow, he managed his way to his office, although a little late; a tad too unprofessional on his part. The client was waiting for him. Slightly embarrassed, he excused himself with the traffic woes. The meeting concluded and a happy Ritesh went to the nearby cigarette shop to smoke his anxiety out. Given the audacity of the client to demand a personal meeting with him, it could have gone rough but h

Things that matter

With Independence Day coming up, lots of people are putting up tricolor as their display picture and that leaves me wondering if not doing so makes me any less patriotic, and then I remember this little incident I read in the newspaper. An accident occurred on the road and there was a huge gathering of spectators. Everyone was busy taking snaps and passing comments when a taxi driver came up, informed the police over the phone and drove the victim to the nearest hospital in his taxi. When I read about this incident, all I could do was smile. I was pretty sure that the taxi driver did not have any Facebook profile to show his patriotism!

Modi and India

Mr. Narendra Modi, the person whose name needs no introduction, is in the centre of the dais now. No more debates over AAP vs BJP, no more discussions over the Gujarat development model, all we are looking forward to, is for him to deliver, to rise to the occasion and fulfil all his promises. The elections have given "him" a clean majority, the people of India gave their mandate solely on the merits of Narendra Modi. The general elections 2014, might in fact be arguably remembered as the elections when a person rose above everyone to garner the popular support. To date, it has been almost 30 days for Modi ji since he took in charge of the Prime Minister Office. This period has seen a lot of hustle and bustle in the PMO. Many decisions have been taken, some of which received a positive response while some have been criticized heavily. Modi sarkar received a warm welcome from the market which showed tremendous growth as soon as the results were out. People could see th

Mulayam Singh Yadav comes to the rescue of murderers

Disclaimer: This article is a piece of satire. After labelling rape as a mistake which should not be penalized heavily,SP Supremo Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav now calls murder a mistake. In the recent interview given to ABD news, Mulayam Ji poured his heart out for a man who received life imprisonment for murdering a family.  This man, a robber, murdered a family when they tried saving their home from being robbed. Known fondly as Chhota pappu by his loved ones, this robber has been awarded life imprisonment by the court. This is what Mulayam had to say on this issue. "He made an honest mistake. It isn't like he had always wanted to do it.", said Mulayam. Mulayam also held the now dead family equally responsible for the crime. He claimed that this "accident" wouldn't have occured had the head of the deceased family allowed him to rob peacefully. Mulayam went on to question the intentions of now dead, Mr. Harish. Mulayam alleged that his efforts to

AAP supporters jobless

While everyone is busy changing their Facebook profile pictures to show their support for their favorite team, there is chaos everywhere in the regional offices of Aam Aadmi Party when a whole week passed without an announcement of any dharna by their leader Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. This unexpected and uncharacteristic move by the senior leaders of the party created a state of frenzy with people  speculating if the party still existed. A news channel claimed that it already knew about the party losing the plot. Arnab Goswami was the first one to announce that ever since the party compromised with its main agenda and took support from Congress to form the government in Delhi, he was sure that this would happen." When a party with only two ideals does not stick to the first one, you know it wouldn't hold with the second one for too long as well", he was quoted as saying. As far as the AAP volunteers were considered, they weren't taking it too well. Mr. Harish Chan

Digvijay Singh Revolution

Disclaimer : This article is entirely a work of fiction,(well, not entirely). In case you are a congress supporter or Digvijay Singh's fan and you find it offensive, please don't try to empower me by sending videos of Rahul Gandhi's speeches, I have got balls and I mean it literally! After Digvijay Singh admitted to his relationship with Amrita Rai, his popularity took a high ride. Apparently, engineering students all over the country now consider him their idol and want to emulate his feat. Pappu, an ardent bollywood fan admitted to replacing the idol of Salman Khan in his room with that of a customized statue of Digvijay Singh. Lots of cigarettes and gutkhas were spotted in his room, which he said, were helping him get in a poor shape like Diggi Uncle and hence achieve his goal easily. Pappu's right hand considers Diggi uncle's relationship as a silver lining and is hopeful of getting a long needed extended vacation. Meanwhile, the number of vagabonds outsi

You are rising

Ever wondered why people who no good than shit themselves judge you? Have you ever faced sarcastic comments from people who know nothing themselves but would call you inept? If you haven't, either your life is flimsy with angels and fairy tales ruling it or you are stuck in your life at some point beyond which you don't want to explore and if you have faced such people, my friend, you are rising! With the little knowledge I have and few number of people I have seen, I still find my assertion to be true. Let's take some examples; examples of people who you all know. Thomas Alva Edison , the genius credited with over 1000 patents, was nothing more than an idiot for his fellow classmates. Henry Ford , the Father of American Automobile industry, failed in his first five attempts and was left broke. Harland David Sanders , better known as Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken, had a hard time selling his chicken at first. In fact, his famous secret chicken recipe

Dilemma of Democracy

Image
I hail from India, the land with the world’s largest democracy . Despite that, I am not a big fan of democracy. This post might irk a lot of people but I can’t help sharing my views. The whole concept of allowing each and every one to have a say in every common decision, without considering whether or not they are fit enough to take decisions, is sort of an exaggeration of the concept of rights. Democracy, in its purest form, is something that looks good and promising in theory but in practical, its repercussions can easily be seen. Let’s go through them one by one. ·         1 ) Universal Adult Franchise: The present criteria of allowing every person older than 18 years, to vote is not the best way to judge a person’s eligibility to cast his/her vote. This allows so many people who simply don’t care about the ideals of democracy, to cast vote. I have personally seen people selling their votes for a bottle of liquor in broad daylight.   Almost each and every o

The man we don't know

Dr. Manmohan Singh , the 13th Prime Minister of India, only 2nd after Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru to hold this office twice in succession! Sometimes I wonder what went wrong, what lead to the downfall of this resilient Sardar. The 2004 general elections threw something unexpected. BJP was thrown out of power and Congress led by Sonia Gandhi had managed to turn the BJP's India Shining campaign to its favor. The results were a surprise, exit polls were refuted; politics pandits were nowhere to be seen. However, we did not have a Prime Minister. The idea of Sonia Gandhi as Prime Minister was vehemently opposed partly because of her Italian origins. What then followed has always been a proof of Sonia Gandhi's sharp political acumen. Dr. Manmohan Singh, a lesser known name amongst the Indian households, was nominated by UPA as the Prime Minister. Barely a politician, this man had already proved his mettle as a brilliant economist and bureaucrat. Having served as the Governo
